Revels Houston reaches out to Houston’s diverse community with activities designed to educate the general public about the music, language and culture of the current Revels production.

In the Schools

A major part of Revels Houston’s outreach program is involving school children in the annual productions. The Revels family has welcomed the participation of children from over twenty schools in the Greater Houston area and numerous home schoolers. Not only do these children get a chance to perform as singers, dancers and actors, but they also learn about a culture that is very different from their own.

In the Community

In various venues throughout the community, the Revelry Ensemble performs songs and dances from the current and past productions. They perform regularly at festivals and other public venues, at a variety of programs for assisted living communities, hospitals, private functions, and elementary schools for Young Audiences of Houston, where they employ the Revels brand of audience-participatory entertainment.

The Revels Chorus, actors and musicians perform at hospitals, theaters, parks, pubs, as well as on radio and television. They spread the joy of Revels to those who are unable to attend the performances and throughout the community, interacting with audiences, and bringing laughter, music and dance to all.

Reaching out to others in the community – that’s what Revels is all about.
